KBC Securities Services provides the infrastructure to run global brokerage/custody operations. We offer this full-value chain to institutional customers, wealth managers, asset managers, private and retail banks and family offices.
The primary goal of KBC Securities Services is to support financial institutions in meeting their current and future challenges in the area of securities services.
We provide an unparalleled level of knowledge, highly skilled staff and the essential means to ensure customer satisfaction and to cement our place in the market as the leading, open, modular-insourcing-platform company offering standard business processes, end-to-end architecture and support services.
The KBC Securities Services offering comprises four cornerstones.
Depositary Bank Services
A fund (UCITs/AIF) can appoint KBC Securities Services for the safekeeping of the fund’s assets. As for any other financial institution, KBC Securities Services will offer the integrated brokerage & custody solution for a less complex and more cost-effective end-to-end handling of the underlying assets.
Moreover, a financial institution that also maintains its custody accounts and brokerage activity for investors with KBC Securities Services enjoys the advantage of centralization of the active and passive side of the investment business. This is most valuable from an operational perspective and will further lead to risk minimization and cost efficiency.
Next to safekeeping of the fund’s assets, we instill confidence and protect both fund investors and assets where KBC Bank is appointed as the depositary bank by performing the following tasks:
- Cash monitoring: all cash accounts, cash movements and positions
- Oversight: on incorporation documents and prospectus, compliancy with regulations, timely settlements, dividend payments and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation
- Reporting to the fund’s Board of Directors
We meet these requirements by means of two services offered to funds.
Due diligence
Due diligence from the depositary bank’s perspective is a risk assessment of the procedures and processes carried out by the various parties involved in the fund. This results in a due diligence report being drawn up with relevant findings for the fund. By doing this, we provide guidance to improve the way of working.

Sample testing
We monitor the operational controls on data received from the fund’s accounting ledgers which are used to calculate the NAV. This service is performed daily by a team of highly qualified experts.
